17 months down

Well, it's been 17 months in the wait. Our fingerprints have expired and our I-171H is expired as well. We will renew as we get closer to referral. A lot of people have decided to keep renewing their documents to avoid meeting Hague requirements if they let their docs expire. After weighing our options, we let them expire.

Hi! i found you blog through someone else's. Our LID is late October and we let our paperwork expire too. No one else I know has done this. We just don't see the sense it having it renewed two, or possibly three more times. So much can change in that time period! Not to mention the expense. What I'm wondering is if you know how exactly this will affect us when we do renew under the Hague guidelines. We will still quailfy, right?( I have some health issues and we barely made the income requirement the first time) I know I should have researched this BEFORE we let it expire, but we were going through a rough time at the time it was due for renewal and I just couldn't deal with it then. Anyway, I don't know if you have any information on this or not, but I was just so relieved to see someone else who chose not to renew because every single person I "know" renewed and are good to go. Sorry this is so long. Here's my e-mail if you could drop me a line: scrappermg@cox.net. Thanks so much!
